  1. why buy a camera and just take pictures. buy a 9 in one and take picture, video, listen to mp3’s, mp4’s, voice recording, webcam, mass storage all in one!

  2. @ZACK1559 Personally i’d get the Canon XSI, only because I think the video the Nikon D5000 takes isn’t worth the extra money. Its not even full HD! If you really want video, than get a Canon T1i.

  4. Infra-red radiation is otherwise known as heat. All the sensor does is receive, not transmit. The camera will do you no harm!

  8. Which lens would you recommend for taking action shots of volleyball at the net. I can’t get very close (probably about 40-50 feet from the action)

  15. @haranaTHSU it is called 450D in other countries; it is called the xsi in the states.

  16. more megapixels doesnt mean better quality.

    Comment by fenderman21guitar — March 19, 2010 @ 5:34 am
  17. Also, this camera has twice as many megapixels than the D40!

    Comment by Notchocheezsk8r — March 19, 2010 @ 5:48 am
  18. You should get Rebel XSi because it is smaller but just as good as a profesional camera. Now the D40 is more of Nikon’s lower end SLR’s so hope that helps!

  19. these may seem like weird question to hardened photographers reading this but can anyone answer these questions on the 450D:

    1) is it possible to power the camera via usb?
    2) can the battery be charged by plugging the camera into USB.
    3) and can the camera act as a “webcam” by pluging it into a PC?

  20. this camera looks beautiful. i’m just getting into photography and i’m not decided whether to get this of the Nikon D40. I will not be getting the Rebel XS, since it seems impossible to get hold of it with IS (here in the UK at least).

    Beautiful camera.

  21. it is pretty good. The xsi is my first dslr. I love it. You can set it to full auto, half auto(TV, P, AV, )
    or full manual(M).
I got it last month with a 55-250mm lens.
